3rd CUP : School: General Information and Academic Administration (part 2)

Welcome to my 3rd Cup.

In this cup, i will tell you about my daily live during the Sea Teacher Program, from the observation at the school, preparing the lesson plan, the evaluation day, and also my experience exploring Chiang Rai.

January 25th,
It's my first day observation. I placed in Kindergarten 3/1 with Teacher Nud as the homeroom teacher and Teacher Bow as the assistant teacher . There are 40 more or less students in the class. 
The class setting is not different with the class setting in Indonesia. There is a lot of toys, students' stationary, teacher desk, etc,


In Kindergarten, the students came to school on 8 a.m to 9 a.m, they walk to the class by themself and then playing in the class, waiting for the bell. On 8.30 a.m the teacher rang the bell and the students, they all gathered in the field for morning ceremony. On morning ceremony, the students praying, singing and dancing.



On 9 a.m the students came back to the class and sit on the floor for the morning circle. There are stickers in the class, and the students should sit based on the stickers that they have.


The student also have their own indentity by using animals or flowers symbol such as sun flower, buffalo. The teacher also stamp all of the students worksheet so the teacher can know the worksheets belonging to each students. The school provide milk, lunch, and snack for the students,


The school in Thailand has a habit that is not owned by the citizen of Indonesia that is taking a nap. After the students had their lunch and brushing their teeth the students have to pray and then go to sleep.

Materials and other Learning Source
The students in Anuban or Kindergarten have 6 workbooks with 6 differents colour. The yellow book is a Thai homework book, the pink is English book, the blue is Thai ABC book, the green is mathematic, the white is Thai number, and the purple is an English homework book. The teacher usually add other materials from internet and local knowledge. The teacher prepared the material and the activities for next meeting on the evening after the class or at night when they’re already home. The teacher no need to buy the materials because the school support all the teaching materials. Teacher also often to use the objects that are arounf sp the students will easily understand. For example when the topic for English subject is introducing kind of clothes, the teacher use the student’s clothes for an example.

Measurement and Evaluation System 
This school has got same measurement and evaluation system with school in my country, Indonesia. The teacher use typical assessment like examination for the Prathom or Primary School, but in Anuban or Kindergarten the teacher use formal and informal assessment such as observation and portfolio.  The teacher observe the students and make an anecdotal record. Every students have to achieve  four developments, as follows : Social Development, Emotional Development, Physical Development, and Intelectual Development. The teacher also make a portfolio of every students from the worksheet, workbook and project that teacher’s made for the students. Both the anecdotal record and portfolio will be reported to the parents at the end of the semester on the report day. 
 
Curriculum 
The School using the curriculum given by the government, it is The Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 251 (A.D. 2008) from the Ministry of Education Thailand. But in only for the Prathom or Primary School, because there are still no curriculum for the Anuban or Kindergarten
