2nd CUP : School: General Information and Academic Administration (part 1)

On January 23rd, the Buddies take us for a university tour. This University is huge, maybe 10 times bigger than my university in Jakarta, Indonesia. There are so many faculty in this university, and even, this university have its own lake.

After that, we back to the President's Office to discuss about the school where we're going to teach, our place to stay and our room/housemate. I will teach at Demonstration School of Chiang Rai Rajabhat University with Sheila dan Aira from Philipine. 

On January 24th, we already prepare our things to move to our new house and go to our school. Before that, we had another meeting at the President's office to meet the teacher from the school that we will observe and teach. Ms. Wasinee come to the meeting as the representative and the supervisor for the three of us.

During this program, i will live at the university guest house. But the location it is not that close even though it placed in one area, i have to walk for about 5 to 10 minutes from the guest house to school and vice versa. Luckily, the university provide us a shuttle bus. The driver will pick us up at 8 a.m from the guest house, and will pick us up at 4 p.m from the school. 

As soon as we arrived at the school, Ms. Wasinne take us for a school tour and ask us about the class we will teach. I choose to teach in Kindergarten 3 and the homeroom teacher is Teacher Nud. Ms. Wasinne also introduce us to the english teacher at school, Ms. Donna and Mr. Wesley.

School Profile 
Demonstration School of Chiang Rai Rajabhat University or Satit Rajabhat School is one of the department under the Chiang Rai Rajabhat University. The School was build on 1973 it is about 45 years ago in 7 hectars area. The location of this school is inside of Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, 80 Phaholyothin Rd. Muang, Chiang Rai, 57100, Thailand. At the first, the school only has Anuban One or Kindergarten One, but as the time goes by now the school expand to Prathom Six or Primary School grade six and also has nursery class with the number of students reaches 700 students.

Academic Support System
Satit Rajabhat School Each level has classes for nursery class, six classes for Anuban or Kindergarten that divided into two classes for Anuban One, two Classes for Anuban Two and two classes for Anuban Three, 12 classes for Primary School that divided into two classes for each level. Overall this school has 20 classes from nursery class to primary grade six.

The School has two large outdoor playground, one basketball field, one soccer field, one running track, one library, one music room, one computer room, teacher’s office, administration office, and multifunction room. The school also cooperates with the special education department, it take part of handling of children with special needs in the school.

It helps to develop the special needs children’s abilities. The school help the special needs children to learn how to socialize and how to survive in real life but for developing the skills the children will learn with the special education department. The special education’s building is right in front of the school, every afternoon after the students had their lunch the teacher or mentor from special education department will pick up the special student to give him/her treatment.

Teaching System
A week of learning to be held for 5 days from 8.30 a.m to 4 p.m. They have 4 subjects, as follows: Physical Exercise (PE), Music, Computer, and English. For each subject it’s has during 50 minutes.  The student will have PE on Monday, Music subject on Tuesday, Computer subject on Wednesday, and English subject on Thursday and Friday.
